WIW: Bluegrass Concert + Cocktail Party wear

We're nearing the end of our town's month long arts festival. Tonight we went to an outdoor bluegrass concert, The Steeldrivers. They won a Grammy for best bluegrass album last year. They were wonderful! Since I was given the tickets this afternoon, I had to work with what was clean. I'm not wearing anything remarkable. I'm wearing my Bernardo sandals, due to my toe.

Earlier this week a friend celebrated a milestone birthday with a cocktail party. I wore an EF dress and the same Bernardo sandals. I'm so glad I had them.

Very nice looks. And in both cases, the red colour of the sandal is repeated in another item. This makes the outfit look "finished" without the addition of several accessories.

Navy and red! I like the combo.
I'd be tempted to roll up the trousers so they look like bf jeans, because they have that bf slouch - I see they need a belt to stay put.

I did a YouTube on the steeldrivers. Fantastic. Have you noticed the trend amongst TV shows to have bluegrass themes? Up until about a year ago my husband and I were always humming the opening music to the series "Justified". Sounds pretty bluegrassy to me. (We loved that show.)

A friend introduced me to the Steeldrivers recently via a playlist he recommended. I like their sound a lot - how lucky you had the chance to see them live!

Brooklyn, Ryce, thank you! We were very lucky to get the tickets. I had never heard of them, but even before the end of the show went and bought their Grammy-winning CD. The guitarist especially has a great voice. And they were the real deal, hailing from Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri.

Sara, Jenn, thank you! I've gotten great wear out of these sandals. Jenn, as of yesterday, we were at a record 42 consecutive days at 90 or above. I'm starting to get used to it, and doing more outside.

Angie, why yes, I probably do. They 're from last year. I looked for a replacement pair but came up empty handed.

Rachy, thank you! My mother would say the sleeves don't match (but they do!).

Style Fan, thanks! We were very lucky. I was in the right place at the right time, when someone who I barely know had tickets she couldn't use, and offered them up. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert.
