WIW: Black and (Yale)Blue!

I spent about half hour trying to figure out what exactly was the color of my skinnies that I bought from Zara TRF a few months back. Apparently its called Yale Blue .... never heard of that one before o_O What do you call this color?

I wore this today for breakfast with DH and kids. My uniform as always ..... skinnies, top and topper. Just so easy to throw on and yet feel comfy and chic! This is the first time I am wearing this denim jacket over skinnies. I have always worn it over dresses. Wondering if it is too cropped for skinnies? Also, no sleeve crunching for warmth.

I finished the outfit with my cut-out boots, studded tote and gold watch. Thanks for looking and sorry for the blurry pic. DS2 was being a bit difficult.

The jacket looks good to me and I tried hard to pick on it! But the jacket wins with these pants. I used Angie's trick of envisioning it on a mannequin and it worked! I could also see a mannequin wearing this with an oversized top, although that wouldn't work with the denim jacket. Maybe for a slightly warmer day? I love the way the pants work with black, a color which you wear enviably well.

(fyi---yale is an ivy league university in the states, and that blue is the school color. my dad grew up in the shadow of the university, so its part of my family lore.)
anyway, i really like the jeans with the cutout booties. the denim jacket looks good as well.

Kkards- I have heard of Yale university ... But did not know the color connection... Thanks for clarifying that! Now I will wear my Yale blue pants proudly

Great outfit! Love the boots with the studded tote bag and it looks like the "yale blue" adds a little bit of color "pop" to the overall outfit. Very flattering!

Great pants, and I think the denim jacket works well in this combo. The shoes and bag kick it all up a notch as well.

The first thing I noticed were actually the boots - I like how the small heel elongates everything. And they are gorgeous.

Then I noticed the jacket. It's pretty, it works with the outfit plus it doesn't seem to cut "in" at the bottom but rather it seems to flare just a bit. It may be just the way it's photographed, but nevertheless it looks great to my eye. That's what makes it not appear too cropped.

I also like how the top is not tucked in the pants. It creates a nice effect.

As for being ready to post the full photo - you ARE very pretty, I know it from the photo you once posted, but that does not really matter, it's your kindness and warmth that make you truly beautiful. Take your time, but don;t be too hard on yourself either

What a great outfit: casual but edgy and interesting. I don't think the jacket's too cropped at all! On my monitor your trousers look like an almost neon cobalt; I hadn't heard of Yale blue before either. I love learning new colour names though.

You look great! What everyone else said about the jacket, and I love how well the gold trim on the shoes and tote works with the black and bright blue.
