Happy Friday YLF'ers!
I have been pinning a lot of black and white looks lately and adding more graphic B&W patterns is one of my 2013 style goals. This week I decided to have a little black and white challenge week to get some wear out of mostly new-to me-ish B&W items. I'll try to keep the commentary short. (ETA: I think I failed to keep it short!)
1-3: Monday. Felt like things works pretty well. Drapey shirt de-bombed pencil formula.
4-5: Tuesday. When I found this creamy white leather jacket I thought it wouldn't work with white jeans but with the cream and black pinpoint polka dot shirt I feel it does. Thanks Angie for teaching me to it is okay to mix whites.
6: Wednesday. This one was 50 iterations that didnt work. Ended up using jeans b/c I couldnt get any other bottoms to work. Not thrilled with the end result. Ended up french braiding my hair. Need a hair cut. Ugh!
7-8: Thursday: Tried the 80's style bottom button to disguise the under shirt feeling a bit short. Felt "cool" in real life but not sure in the photos. Was planning on my gray oxfords but DH needed me to walk our property with an arborist and I wanted washable shoes for the ensuing muddy mess potential. Added neon yellow shoe laces to my oatmeal boat shoes b/c I love the two colors together and the boat shoes were feeling plain and not getting much wear. I think it works?
9: Friday: This feel much less busy IRL. And the sweater isnt pulled down quite so tight now that I have moved around. Tryng leggings under a slimmer skirt based upon forum posts this week. DH said I look "fabulously stylish this morning".
After the week of black and white I am excited to get some brights going. I like the graphic black and whites, but after the week have confirmed I am also a color gal at heart.
Intent for this post.... Feedback to improve/repeat outfits: What are your favorites? What works or doesn't work proportion wise? Restyling ideas? (esp 6 and 7 seem to need improvement to my eye)
Thanks for reading and offering suggestions!
