WIW: Black and brights (look away, Rae!)

Got this Topshop forest print dress back from the tailor a while ago and have worn it a few times now - with the Lanai jacket, with a sweater over, and today with this F21 jersey topper. I just read Rae's post on brights with black but it's too late to change now!

I like it too, and I think that the brights/black concern applies more to solid or colorblocked brights. The variety of colors in this dress make the whole thing seem less bright in contrast to the black. I think it all works together well, and the dress stands out in an interesting way instead of a clashing way.

Well I think this is the best way to wear brights. Ground them with black. Love it.

Absolutely LOVE that dress! It does work with the black because there are subtle black détails in the dress, so it doesn't look like 2 things that totally don't go together at all. I don't mind black and brights, my issue is black and pastels. Blech!

You look so good in bright colors. When you mix them with black it is so perfectly UWP- "Una Warrior Princess", that is. Love it!

Oh, but this is not a big splash of uni-bright which I am always worried about pairing them with equal big amount of blacks I think the print is very balanced here, and has a bit of blacks, or dark like blacks, wich help so much with the transition to the blacks! YLF, Una!!!:-)
