WIW: Because MsMary reminded me ....

.....that I had this skirt too ... She wore her fab camo pullover with it. I have paired mine with my new navy striped hi low hem sweater (F&F). The sweater has shiny stripes which is not quite clear in the pics. The outfit is a result of Angie's relaxed pencil skirt ensemble.

I wore this for the church sevice today. The temps here are still in their 90s outside but the church was freezing. And this sweater is 100% cotton, I should have taken a topper. Oh well. But it was perfect for the school run and then some grocery shopping.

I was going to wear my fab glitter boots with this outfit (3) (Opening Ceremony/DH bought it from an in house sale). It is a gorgeous colour! They matched the stripes on the sweater too :). But then I decided it was too *showy* for church and changed into my snakeskin print ballet flats (Claudia Ciuti). What do you think? These boots are definitely statements

My studded white handbag (Steve Madden) completed the outfit.

Am I wearing any essentials at all? According to me these are all statements! What do you think? Too many statements?

After I returned home from the afternoon school run ... I made a trip to the ER with DS2 for a pulled elbow O_O. He managed to twist his hand by awkwardly putting his entire body weight on it while just sitting on the floor! Poor guy is having a hard time with doctor visits! I changed into my BFs for the doctor run. DS is fine and dandy after the ortho did the pull and twist method of setting the bone. Hectic day to say the least!

First of all you look terrific. But poor DS! Anyway those gorgeous booties and the bag are definite statements, but I think the top and skirt might be essentials or perhaps regulars? Interested to see what others think!

The reason why I thought the skirt wasn't an essential is because ... I don't wear skirts often. They don't fall into my essentials list. They could be regulars though? Because I need them for a change

Fantastic outfit both ways! I'd say the sweater is a regular, the skirt is an essential, the footwear (esp. booties) statement, and the bag a statement. Not too many statements at all, and beautifully balanced!

Poor DS! I hope he is okay. If it will make him feel any better, you can tell him that when my DD was 3, she dislocated her elbow while we were sitting reading a book!!

Oh, I am sorry to hear about your DS. It is so funny how an everyday event the wrong way can end up damaging. My mom ( who is 78 ) , put her hand down a couple of weeks ago to get out of bed and sprained her wrist and strained a muscle all the way to the elbow ( sounds a lot like what happened to DS2 ). : (

I also love you both outfits ! I love the color combo and you have fab legs. You can never go wrong with Ms. Mary's reminders. : )

I think that the boots for church depend on how dressy your church is. I can tell you that at our church, those would be fine for Mother's or Father's day mass or Easter. But overall , our church is sooooo casual that even the first outfit would render you "dressy". So I say that it depends.
