I need to learn how to accessorize, and I really need some winter shoes. Aside from boots or booties, what other kind of shoe would you recommend for a MOTG?

2nd pic is closeup of my sweater. I realize the sleeves are not the most flattering cut for my large bust, but I'm hoping the busy pattern helps detract from it. Does the shirt hit at an ok place on my hips?

Slipper flats.

Nice top. The low neckline is actually very flattering on your bust line. Pretty colours too.

Welcome! I would recommend sneakers! If I were a MOTG, I'd live in sneakers, especially with a wider hem like these, your options abound.

Have you thought about oxfords or brogues? I love them because they are classic looking and really comfortable, AND you can get them in all sorts of fun and flashy shades. These shoes look fantastic with jeans of all cuts and are perfect for MOTG.

I like this sweater on you and I don't think it hits at an awkward spot. Looks like you're getting lots of advise on shoes but I'd recommend flat booties. I've been living in the two pairs of Sam Edelman booties I bought this year. They are easy to wear and comfortable.

ETA: Woops - just saw that you said besides booties. Disregard!! I second slipper flats. I've been wearing those too!

i agree with viva's recommendation ---oxfords. i also have a pair of frye's (although not the ones viva linked to), and they are all day comfortable. and they are great for running around

Fantastic sweater! Like Angie said, slipper flats. They're an easy transition from ballet flats because they generally work with the same outfits.

As a GMOTG I live in ballet flats and sneakers. I have tons of problems with my feet and they cramp something fierce when in close quarters. We have long summers (sandals and ballerinas) and mild winters (ballerinas and nice sneakers like http://www.zappos.com/nike-fle.....sims_sdp_1). I'd love to try boots but every pair I have put on kill me- any suggestions from others with foot issues?

You look lovely in the sweater! I'd recommend a pair of slipper flats or oxfords, and at least one pair of what Angie calls "sassy sneaks." These sneakers are meant not as gear, and shouldn't look like gear, but like good casual wear. I purchased a pair of classic white Converse for the first time this summer, and I wear them with a gel insole for a little more cushioning. The run large and wide, which makes it easy to accommodate a comfy insole.

With your coloring, you could choose taupe, nude or a subtle metallic to bookend your hair.

What stores do you have near you, and which do you shop (b&m or online) most often?

The sweater is very flattering I've gone off ballet flats - tho, of course, I say this and am wearing a pair right now. But they feel childish to me.

I think the sweater is very pretty on you! I struggle with the same MOTG shoe issue in my mild springs/falls, so I'm watching this thread with interest. I have tried on oxfords and slipper flats in the past, but always feel they make my feet look clownish since I wear a larger size, especially with skinny jeans. And I need a "solid" base, I feel, to balance out my IT-ness. I'm guessing I need to keep trying and that a lot is in the details: vamp, color, heel, etc. Good luck in your search!

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions! I have some oxfords and some slipper flats on my Christmas wishlist now. And I will add some flat booties. I saw them on someone today with jeans, and that's something I think I could definitely do.

Beth Ann, we have lots here (I'm near Salt Lake City). Kohls, Target, Macy's, and Maurices are stores I frequent; but really, I do a lot of my shopping online (Amazon or Gap). It's just easier for me than fitting rooms with 2 or 3 kids in tow.

I think slipper flats would be very cute and a nice slip-on alternative to ballet flats. I have yet to try them though.

The top is very good on you. What large bust? The neckline and the print certainly camouflage it. The length of the top is flattering too. A hemline the same color/tone as your jeans would blend it in completely, if you want to try that and see how it looks. Nice outfit!
