The story as it unfolds:
So today DH was working and: bebe and I spent the day together. I had ordered the Tory Burch mint kurta top shown in one and two. On the website it was shown with short white shorts. It was sheer and in in my mind I knew I needed a shape wear base cami. Emphasis on 'knew'.
We headed to brunch around 11 am after I had spent 60 minutes with sears home repair and then 60 minutes with two nursing homes ( I was on home call) all via Alexander Graham Bells's wonderful, yet occasionally loathed; bequest to us.
I posed all preening in front of the awning in front of our brunch place as bebe clicked away and when I eagerly reviewed after I was shocked: egads my belly looked like it was ready to be rolled out into pizza dough- all fabulous lumps and all. We tried some side views but really it was a lumpy bumpy shapeless deal that begged for a shapewear cami.
On the bottom of said outfit was the debut of my Kut from the Kloth Catherine's tapered and shortened but an item I am yet to come to terms with.
Luckily my clutch that matched my new sandals provided some belly hiding options.
Post brunch we returned items to J crew, Modcloth, Garnet hill and Victoria's secret via ups and usps.
Feeling triumphant on making returns instead of cutting labels and then consigning for a pittance we headed to the mall where I returned three items at Gap and one at Old Navy.
Next we headed to Target where bebe spent most of her GC from the YLF Godmothers ( see OT post) on buying two new monster high dolls. FYI: The Godmothers are hereby to be known as the 'Good mothers' per bebe's decree. (see last pic).
Finally as we headed out of Target we stopped at JC Penney to tighten the belt around bebe's shorts so they would not end up around her ankles ( have you guessed narrow butts run in the family?) when she spotted the color blocked laser cut tank for me and said "I think this will look much better with the BF jeans mama"
Well as you can see that is how we returned home. I think I will need a semi tuck/faux tuck always to make peace with how figureless these BF's make me look but I will work on it. ( ETA: pic 5 and 6 are the white BF's: light shadows create the lavender effect)
The Tory Burch is back on a hanger and will debut shortly with shape wear and perhaps short shorts.
