We just got back from a few days in San Diego. We had expiring airline credits to use, and so we headed to La Jolla. It was just lovely. The temperature stayed between 66 to 71, and was foggy every day, with one morning of drizzle. We didn’t see the sun until we were on the plane home. It didn’t matter to me. I grew up with cold, windy fog, and this was neither. On the TV news they said, “It feels like Fall.”
I wore shorts and a windbreaker every day. I brought nicer clothes for dinner, but La Jolla was very casual, and I only dressed up (cropped pants and a nice top) one evening. We mostly walked and walked. My phone said I walked from 17,000 to 21,000 steps each day. Each night I fell asleep to the sound of the crashing waves.
The MVP on this trip was an Eddie Bauer windbreaker I bought last spring. It has a gridded fleece interior and several zip-up pockets to hold my barest of essentials. I brought another EB windbreaker that I jokingly called my dressy windbreaker. On the trip home I’m wearing my nod to a column of color.

3. Across the street we saw three weddings getting ready. It was a beautiful if not very private setting
4. There were lots of surfers, but nearly all wore wetsuits.
5. We went to the brand new Museum of Contemporary Art. The bright square in the center of the picture is an opening to the outdoors. There were several of these. I’m not sure how this works when it rains.

12. I loved seeing these giant “asparagus” spears. Per my Seek app, though, this is Shaw’s agave.
