These past 10 days I had an unexpected opportunity to go on a retreat in Kauai. Of course I said YES!
Unfortunately it was during Hurricane Lane, so there was torrential rain, flooded roads, dangerous surf and many activities and eateries closed. But everything turned out ok- including my beach capsule! Doesn’t it feel good when things are finally working together??
Photos show my swimwear situation- I stay within a general palette of blue/turquoise/green for bikini tops and bottoms (assorted from high-street brands) and also gear (rash guard and superfab Athleta board shorts). Beach accessories for lounging: straw bag (Target) whose orange pompoms match my orange sunglasses (also Target), and a huge straw hat (H&M) that was bought as a joke but actually works really well to shade shoulders and block out view of annoying people on nearby deck chairs. Bonus that the orange and teal bits of these straw accessories work well with my swimsuit colors!
