Yes - I know that a "message" t-shirt is pretty much a fashion faux pas for someone my age - but, this little tee from Target jumped into my cart the other day - and demanded that I take it home. The "message" made me smile and it was fun to wear!

My concern about this outfit, is that I'm beginning to wonder if I am pushing the boundaries of JFE? This outfit adds at least 15 lbs. to my frame. Is that considered OK? - or should I dial it back a bit on the over-sized fit?

You look slim and fit, Marley. I'm not where those extra 15 lbs are! I think the structure (sleeveless top and scrunched pant legs) keep this way more than JFE. You look amazing!

I love and wear "message" tee shirts, and I'm "of a certain age" so fashion faux pas or not, I say, "Keep rockin' it, girlfriend!" The outfit looks fantastic.

Oh OK - I need to "get over" myself, don't I? I was focusing on the area between the word "BE" and the bottom of the crotch area. That's the thickest part of my body - hence, the rectangle body-type!
Thank you for all of your boosts of encouragement! I must admit that if had not looked at myself in the pics I would have gone about my day feeling good - because this type of outfit is so me! And yes Una - you are right, that "saucy tomboy feeling" is my weakness too!

I love this on you! Love the message tee (great message), love how the shoes bookend your hair, love the fit of the trousers. You look fit and fantastic!

As someone who is part of the age demographic to whom the shirt would be marketed, I think you look fabulous in it and that you totally rock laidback, edgy chic with this outfit.

Glad to know I am not the only one with perception problems! Glad the fabbers set your head back on straight for you.

FYI: I look at you wearing something baggy like this and I know that it is only because you are NOT carrying an extra 15 pounds that you can "get away" with something this baggy. It would not drape the same way at all if there were "something to hide" under there!

As someone who is extremely sensitive when it comes to JFE (as in, JFE is usually not even close to flattering enough for my liking... on myself) I am surprised how much I love this! All of it! You look so great and fun and edgy in all the best ways, and I find it very flattering. It's obvious that the extra baggy-ness in places is definitely the clothes and not your body. Besides... Who can focus on the clothes when you have THAT AWESOME HAIR!! (And of course you had to get that tee - it was made for you!)

* Sarah - JFE is so subjective isn't it? I recall you wearing a pair of harem pants that you really rocked - and that was definitely one of those JFE outfits! Also, thanks for the compliment on my hair. I always figure that if nothing else works with my outfit - at least I've got my hair! (most days it behaves itself, thank goodness!)
* LadyLilac - I feel better now hearing from someone of a younger generation! I'm assuming now that if I were to wear this to pick up my 18 year old niece at the airport that she wouldn't take one look at me and just keep on walking, pretending that she didn't know me, right???
