WIW: (backlog) spring layers - YouLookFab Forum

I didn't want to post these outfits from last week in the same thread as my fantasy vs. reality outfit, so here they are in a separate post.

#1: pattern mixing, layers, and bootcuts. Mostly neutrals with a bright pop of orange.
(handknit scarf, Ines Raspoort blazer, Bellatrix top, Lucky jeans, Born oxfords)

#2: This sweater is too short to wear on its own with pants but I like it layered over a floaty silk top. This is my only pair of brown shoes (although I have a couple of cognac pairs like the boots in my other thread) and the color is the only reason why they do not get worn as much as they should. They are super comfy and the styling is really cool though, so I've kept them so far.

Diana, I really love outfit #2. That sweater is a beautiful color for you and I like the effect of the floaty silk top underneath. It's a good thing you kept the brown shoes, they look great with this outfit. Love it!

I like #2 a lot too. Fab layering. Fun to see you in earth tones in the middle of Spring. Why not.

Rachy, yup. It's a triangle. Most of the pretty lace shawl patterns are triangles and after a lot of trial and error this is how I wear most of them. Avoiding the babushka/prairie look, you know. Works with squares too, just fold them in half first.

Fun layering. I too am loving you in that sweater in #2 It's a shade I don't recall seeing you in before and I really like it on you.

These are both nice outfits but #2 is my favorite. I like the layers and the color of your sweater. I also really like your boots.

Diane, I think this sweater is the only thing I own in this color. I used to have some boots too but they are long gone. I feel like this particular golden camel color is very hard to find. Most camel I see in the stores is too tan, or too pinkish.

Both outfits are fab, but #2 is a standout. That shirt and sweater combo were made for each other.

Oh I especially love the peplum-esque effect of the layering in 2! But the dandy-ish feel of the jacket in 1 is irresistible too.
