WIW: (backlog) snow boots outfits

I haven't been feeling very inspired with my outfits lately, as it's been all about just staying warm and getting through all the snow, so i haven't been taking too many WIW shots. I didn't bother to photograph the FFBOs (big pullover + skinnies), but here are a few outfits from the last couple of weeks.

#1: hand knit cardi, Edista zebra tee, vince jeans, sorel snow boots. I don't wear this chunky cardigan jacket often enough! Changed out of the boots into grey oxfords at lab.

#2: gap long plaid shirt, KUT jacket, CoH jeggings, sorels, mz wallace bag. Wore this out for errands and lunch.

#3: gap blazer layered over a hand knit chunky hoodie vest, joes plaid pants, sorels. Again, changed to oxfords at work. It was really cold this day. I liked having the hoodie because it meant an extra head covering (plus my hat) when I was waiting for the bus!

Nice snow boots It's so weird to be looking at snow boots when out west here, I'm wondering if I should pull my summer stuff out. Freakishly hot weather here.

Are those the same Sorels in all three pics? You've styled them so they look different in each pic somehow ... integral to the outfit (even if you did change to oxfords later). Especially love them with the sweater in #1 and the plaid pants in #3.

Yup, they are the same Sorels in all the photos. Glad to hear that they look different in different outfits, because I am getting mighty sick of them. At this point, for outdoors I am pretty much only wearing these and my black Blondo riding boots, which have enough traction and are waterproof, but not as warm as the Sorels. This is not changing until it warms up enough to melt some of the mountains of snow, sigh. If the snowdrifts get a little less deep, I might be able to get away with my Docs; they are not really tall enough for deep snow but at least they have enough traction.

I really wanted to get some Bean boots this winter, but they have been sold out for months.

Rachy, my mom (in southern CA) was just telling me about how hot is it there! Apparently all of her flowers are blooming already.

More admiration that you dress so stylishly (and with such variety) in these weather conditions. My favourite is #1 - love your handknit cardi and the zebra tee. Gorgeous colour palette.

Stay warm. You have really been blasted with snow this year So hard to feel even remotely fashionable when all you want to do is curl up with a cup of cocoa and not go anywhere near the outdoors. Maybe that is just me projecting . . .

I like the first two outfits best but I think it might be because I think purple looks especially good on you and the third outfit looks a more like spring, which I'm not feeling at all right now, stuck in the snow!
My daughter and I both have the Bean boots, purchased a few years ago, and while they were warm enough for my dog walking treks, they were not warm enough for her train commutes. They are not very good at all on slick surfaces and I had to add YakTraxs to mine. She bought the Uggs Adirondacks and they're warmer, more supportive, and have much better traction. I still love mine for woodsy walks but I'm also looking at Sorel. Anyway, if you'd gotten the Bean boots you'd be just as sick of them by now.
