Dear Angie and fabbers,
I've missed you! I'm sorry for being away so long, I guess life just happened. I hope all of you are fine - I'll try to catch up with some forum activity very soon.
As part of my New Year preparations I've been editing my wardrobe again, and I'm still quite pleased with what's in there - no big changes. I have only made minor additions lately:
Two upgrades:
1) A new pair of black pumps. Yes, the good old boring basics, but oh' so annoying when thy aren't right. I've finally found a pair that fits me right, are versatile and comfortable and at a good price, too. I hope these will serve me well for several seasons! I've been breaking them in today, and they are very promising (no blisters, sore toes or anything). I hope the pointy toe is classic enough to last for a while, and the heels are certainly not too high for me. My old pair is already at the Salvation Army and can no longer torture my feet.
2) A black turtleneck in merino and cotton (which makes it toasty, but not too warm). It is super soft, fitted, but not too body con, and thin enough to layer under other pieces, but it also works well as a stand alone piece. It replaces a very old, flimsy and shapeless H&M turtleneck in viscose. It's material made a world of difference and now I wear it all the time.
3) Christmas gift from DH:
WIW today:
Inspired by immortal style icons like Marilyn Monroe and Angie Cox I paired the new turtleneck with white jeans and black pumps for my home office look today. My snakeskin belt ties the look nicely together. I couldn't resist adding the grey hoodie for more warmth - our weather is the worst today. I definitely have to change for Sorels when I leave for the gym in a little while.
Having great basics makes life easier for me, so I'm very happy about these upgrades and additions. What do you think? Too basic, or does it work?
Any and all comments are highly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
