So, as some of you know, I went to a five-day scientific conference last week. The overall vibe of these conferences is basically Science Camp, very casual, in some isolated location. I was definitely one of the more dressed up people there in my slouchy pants and sack dresses, LOL. The most popular outfits appeared to be polo/tee, cargo shorts, and gear sandals, particularly on the older men (ugh) but also on some of the women. A lot of the women wore jeans or capris with casual sandals (some gearish). Really casual, even on many of the people from Europe, which I found a bit surprising.
Most of these things are repeats so I am not going to bother with outfit descriptions. I think the only thing you may not have seen before is the sheer pink top in the second photo; I have had it for ages but don't wear it as much as I would like because the big batwing sleeves tend to get caught on things, which is kind of dangerous in lab. For the first day (traveling and some conference stuff in the evening) I did not get a photo but I wore the first outfit in this post , minus the necklace (thanks Zap for the suggestion!). The jackets were only worn in the AC; for that reason I found the turquoise knit one more useful b/c it was easier to stuff into my bag when I was not wearing it. I brought some jewelry but did not wear any of it except for my big watch and my rings.
Anyway, I am glad to be home now!
