WIW At Home, At Work + A Victory

So a small victory: I refrained from buying a beautiful pair of polished preppy loafers on deep discount. They would have been a total closet outlier and distraction from my focus, and I held firm. Are we proud? Now hopefully I don't rush out one evening this week and go back and buy them. Hehe.

Ok. Now for the WIWs.

Pic #1: Ancient Marc Jacobs tee, last summer's wide-legged crop pants from local designer Stella Carakasi, faux birkies. Strange Olive Oyl pose. This At Home outfit may be too trendy and designer-y to qualify for Country Punk, but I think it's close.

Pic #2: Shhh. Don't tell, Angie. I have actually done a white-out outfit. It crept up on me. Hehe Ok, this At Work outfit consists of new faux leather white skirt (that's probably how the white caught me), new Eileen Fisher sweater (finally, an EF for me!), and new minimalist flats. This is pretty much an unstyled outfit - me just putting on all my new stuff at once, because I love it, while being all puffy headed from an allergy attack (don't look too close at my pic; got huge puffy eyes - KFC would ask me to leave the premises).

Pic #3: Making #2 Country Punk by adding big heavy fisherman's sweater. This is all pretty out of place at work, but I've gone and done it anyways.

p.s. Anyone know how to get wrinkles out of faux leather?

Rachylou-I see you. Oh man I could not resist. I love them all you look fab. Pic 1 is so fashion forward to me . I use my little steamer to get the wrinkles out. I steam the garment inside out.

Yeah, I dunno, your Country Punk credentials may be on the line with the first outfit (which is pretty awesome)!

For the white skirt I would also suggest a steamer! Or hang in the bathroom with steam from a hot shower.

Hey, that's cool that Stella is on Sierra Trading Post. And I see on Sierra, she's got a stretch micro twill. I could go for that. So easy. Her shop is all linen.

I think finding softer constructions has helped - the drapey trend has enabled me. And the sturdiness of faux leather, I feel the skirt might survive a jam donut.

I really like #1--that's a great way to wear the birk-a-likes. And how can I resist #2--congrats on your EF sweater! That skirt is fab on you, too. The last outfit is quirky and charming. Maybe that's a sweater I need for summer in Seattle!
