WIW and why I cant do a 12X12

I usually wear a black Old Navy shirt with these pants but it became too pilled so I retired it. First I tried a cream colored sweater, then a blue and white striped sweater and rejected both due to fit issues. This was shirt number 3 and I'm still not really happy. I'd like it if the shirt was a little longer. I planned to wear both the first two sweaters with the bed stu boots so now I've got some holes to fill.

Hate it when that happens! Sometimes everything seems to stop being wearable at once, not sure why. LOVE the boots, and they look great with the pants!

That's a fun sweater, Shedev. I agree that a slightly longer one would be good with these pants, but perhaps you can wear this jumper with a skirt instead?

Adelpha- Thanks, I really love these boots. They are super comfy and fit perfectly.
Inge- I really like the sweater, just not with skinnies. I never thought of wearing with a skirt but I think it could work with bootcuts too. I'll post some pictures soon of both looks.

I hear you! You have to be at a really good place with your closet to do a 12 x 12 IMO. I am still in the early part of my style journey, so it won't work for me either!

Those boots are so fab:). Agree that a longer sweater might be a better option with the pants but its a nice sweater and over a wider leg pant might create better proportions. Your outfit has a lot of personality, I like:)

I think that too thistle. I'm about half way there. Someone mentioned that they were doing a 20X12. I'm thinking about doing the same thing as it would give me a little more room for wardrobe building but still help me to practice thoughtful purchasing.

Cool boots!! And yes, isn't it frustrating when you realize your wardrobe holes at the last minute (or too late)? Oh well....no reason to aim for a 12 x 12 unless you really already have more or less what you need, I say.
