WIW: And now for something different...

This is a little bit off my style radar (polka dots) but I fell in love with this j. crew top in CA. However, it was too expensive to justify. Then it went on super-sale, and I snapped. What do you think? Worn with BR pants and Dansko Ryders (and wolverine necklace!!)...

ETA: Sorry, didn't realize this photo was really so blurry - I thought it was just my morning eyes making it look that way.

I think the regimented polkadots and the ombre make it fit just fine into your style. I love the boxiness of it with the trousers.

I wouldn't have seen this as off your radar at all! It seems to fit in very nicely to me. There is nothing "pretty" or "girly" about those dots. It's more like an op-art print. I like it.

I have that same top in kelly green and navy, also on super sale, and it's a great top!
I sewed a little tuck in the sleeves at the wrists because they were too wide to stay scrunched.

Parsley, have we seen yours? How do you wear it? That color combo sounds divine, I have the striped tunic in those colors. Im actually leaving the sleeves down, because I like the integrity of the pattern that way and because it is SO COLD.

Oh, Shannon, I am SO trying that! Wonder if I should wear that combo for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow? Theory blazers would also work nicely though I'd rather not cover up the pattern.

I was also going to suggest your Theory blazers - it gives you another option. I can't remember - do you have burgundy/dark red skinnies? If so, that would look great too.

LOL, just returning from my WIW thread where you commented about my turtlenecks... well, this is the pattern I cannot pull off, polkadots (or anything) ombre style with larger stuff at the lower part, so it's 1:1.

Ornella, I was just realizing that I subconsciously loved this pattern for its hip-widening effects! Your outfits give me inspiration for my pear friend who is going to the Nordstrom private holiday sale with me next week.

I don't usually like polka dots but I really like this top. I think because of the neutral color palette and the ombre effect. It looks great on you!

Hmm, mine is similar, but i don't think it's the same after all. Mine is the cotton version. It's really lightweight and I wore it at the end of summer with white pants, mostly.

Una, I like it a lot, and think the optic print has a little bit of a retro vibe that works well with your style. Seeing it on you and in the link makes me realize that there are a lot of styling options still to be explored. I hope you keep it and Una-ize it in fab fashion. I wore mine simply, with just a pop of color, but I need to broaden my horizons.

The top is fantastic on both of you. I love seeing the difference in styling - is Kyle's the same top? Una's has more white at the bottom / more contrast in the outfit.
The ombre is so much fun with the polka dots.
