Hi all,

I have made two additions in January.

1) NES Dartster shorts - made in NZ . Lyocell. A useful summer addition for the beach and casual days at home. Here are two stylings - one for casual drinks, and one for travel home.

2) Foxwood Vanilla Camisole - NZ designed, made in a China. Viscose blend. A really lovely fabric. I am loving this for high summer and it will be fantastic layered as well. I really enjoy this shade of white and hope to get something for cooler weather in vanilla!

My next purchases will be for my work wardrobe - there will be more agonising than with these two essentials which have seamlessly integrated.

Sal these were fantastic additions and how great that both are NZ designed, so you are supporting local designers. I particularly love that shade of vanilla on you. I would wear the vanilla top underneath a work jacket, so this piece can also be included in your work capsule.

Lovely shorts and they look super with the striped t shirt.

The palm print on the skirt is gorgeous, fresh and summery and perfect with the cami top.

I’m nodding with Bijou on the cami for workwear.

Looking pretty in every picture. I love lyocell and rayon fabrics - the only drawback is being very careful when washing it ( cold water, hand wash first time, dry flat ).

Both purchases are terrific for you, Sally! I, too, got a lot of wear from a lightweight ivory tank this summer. I love how it looks with your skirt!

Thanks Kelly - it has been so hot here so sleeveless is fantastic inside and at night in particular.

Suz - I am wearing the cami again today with a yellow striped skirt. It is one of those pieces that I almost wonder how I did without it and I have only owned it just over two weeks. I don't like white tees very much ( or have never found the right one - too tight, too boxy, too see through etc) so a woven one is perfect for me.

Slimcat - yes I have also had problems with viscose/lyocell in the past. I have mostly had success except they can shrink a bit. It seems to vary so greatly in texture and thickness and quality.

Thank you Suntiger. That is my pick as well (the one with the black hat is very utilitarian).

Angie - the cami is pretty. Yes the shorts are perfect for a few parts of my life. I do prefer skirts and dresses though.

Nemosmom - I love sunglasses.....both from a practical and a style point of view. And yes easy breezy is the name of the game in January here.

Torontogirl - yes when something fits seamlessly in with your other pieces it is a good sign.

Thanks Adriana - I love the skirt too - it is not the easiest piece to wear though so I am pleased to have another top that works.

Cardiff Girl - Yes I wore this for working at home then out to dinner for my 15 year old son's birthday.

Jane - thank you. I find shorts a struggle so was pleased to get an easy pair.

Bijou - thanks. The cami would be good for work, it is a bit bare without a jacket but it is nice to have another layering option in my lean work closet!!

Those are two great pieces, Sal. I' starting to think about my summer wardrobe (it's going to be in the 80s here next weekend) and I'm considering shorts for the first time in a decade.

Jenn, shorts are great for casual beach visits and casual biking and lounging around activities. Jon is winging his way to Anaheim today for a conference actually so I checked out your temps and they did look warm. I considered coming too but in the end the logistics/cost/benefit analysis did not add up.

Thanks Shevia and Joy. White can be one of those tricky ones to get right in my opinion - but the difference between vanilla warm white and cool optic white on me is very noticeable!
