WIW, and a request for styling suggestions

I got these harem pants from Anthropologie yesterday--they were 40% off the sale price and had great reviews, so it looked like a good way to try the trend. They are incredibly comfy though also incredibly high waisted--they come up to only a few inches below my bra band, and I am not particularly short waisted. This makes tucking into them impossible though. To wear them today, I paired them with a boxy cropped linen tee and a silk scarf, but I'd be open for other styling suggestions. One thing that comes to mind is the same ensemble but with a denim jacket on top--I was hoping to model that combination at home, but the package containing the denim jacket somehow never made it to my place :-/ Hopefully it shows up tomorrow. How are you wearing your harem pants?

I have two pairs of harem pants and find them comfy too. That top looks good. As has been suggested other crop tops would look good. I also try to find tops that are slim fitting but long. I like the Indian Kurti style too with these kinds of pants.

Looking at the model, aren't you supposed to pull them down lower so they sit on your hips, not your bra band ?
Of course the lowered harem crotch would be more dramatic this way and maybe you're trying to avoid that ? But would they actually stay put under your bra and not slide down ?
Maybe they're just a size too big, that's why you pull them up so high ?

You could layer a shorter cropped sweater over a somewhat longer top underneath it. The pants look great on you. You could also try pushing them down for a different look, so the waist doesn't come so high. That way you could wear a fitted, tucked tank or bodysuit. Finally try a much longer tunic.

Alaskagirl and Sally, thank you! I was thinking of trying a kurta but not sure I have any that are the right mid length, as opposed to too short or too long. But I will see.

Chewyspaghetti: yes, the cropped shirt works so I will probably keep trying that.

Skylurker and CocoLion, I just tried pulling down the pants so the waistband was sitting above my hips and they looked fine that way too, I don't know why yesterday I felt I needed to pull them up so high. They did stay put even when high up.
