I got this top/tunic/dress on sale at Nordies at least 5 years ago - but have not worn it for the last couple of years. But, as my SYC stretches into almost the end of year 2, I am beginning to rediscover long lost friends that I had previously tucked away in the back of my closet.

This is a very shapelss silk dress, multipattern purple, blue, gray and black that I had always worn as a tunic before, belted and with knee-high boots. (see pic 4) The style didn't ever feel like "me" - but I knew that it worked (that is, it was acceptable!) and so I wore it several times that one fall several years ago and then just forgot about it.

So, here is is resurrected as a dress - I know it is too short for me - but, we are finally getting some hot summer weather and I wanted something that didn't stick to my body and this seemed like the prefect solution. It has a funky cowel neck that you may not be able to tell from the pics and it has a large exposed blue zipper that goes the full length of the outfit in the back. I gave it the sit-down test and because it is so full, there was not a problem there. In general, I would classify a dress this length as being too short for me, but today I decided to give myself a break because of the heat - and also because I'm not doing much today but running errands. I tired to show in the pic 2 the stack of bracelets that I am wearing - they vary from hammered silver, to leather, to titanium to a rhinestone snake. The boots are short, flat Nine West - with studs!

Any ideas on how to improve this? Or, other things I could try with the dress/tunic?

Thank you!
