WIW: An inky lemmingy week - YouLookFab Forum

Well, as many of you know, I love a good inky outfit. It was fun seeing Angie's outfit ensemble last week... ink and black has become one of my favourite things to wear this winter. I even debated doing a whole week of it, but didn't want to tire of the combo.

So, my outfits for the week:
1. BR PJ dress and Danier leather sleeved cardigan. Doesn't get more comfortable or cozy than this. (Hi Suz!)
2. Ink sweater with Black Watch trousers. (Hi Shannon!)
3. I'd been wanting to try this inspiration/copycat outfit for a while... I think "she" got it better than I did. Why? is it the sleeve fold up and scrunch? Is it the boots? Or is it just that she has an amazing body... I hate to attribute good outfits to that, though. (HI headless stranger!)
4. Debut of my navy BR military vest (waving to Sveta!). Worn with my Gap black/ink plaid skinnies.

Elizabeth, you look wonderful in ink, it is a good color for you.
For #3 it may be a higher contrast between optic white and red (in the other picture the sweater looks cream) and also slightly different proportions between the skirt and sweater length. Definitely not the body! ;-0

As Sveta said, you do look wonderful in ink! I love your sweater with Black Watch trousers outfit. I also like the crisp whiteness of your sweater in the red skirt outfit. Something about the black on the bottom of that outfit seems not quite right to me, although I'm not sure what to suggest instead. Maybe someone else will have an idea.

Great pants I think the proportions of your third outfit are a little different - your knit & skirt are longer, as are your boots. She is also wearing heels

1,2 and 4 are really great, with 1 being my favorite. It's true that your colors in 3 aren't quite the same as your inspiration and I also think the bulkier sweater might have paired better with less boot? Or keep the boots and wear a trimmer sweater with more waist definition?

fab! The second outfit is my favorite. I think your inspiration in 3 has a more prominent statement necklace and the leopard booties are fun, but your interruptation is great too.

What a fantastic week, Elizabeth. I really like your version of the inspiration outfit--it's super on you! It would be fun to see your cuffs peeking out from the sweater sleeves. I don't see the inspiration photo as inherently better, though. Yours is a sleeker look; hers is more textured.
I adore the outfit in 4! White and navy are so flattering on you, and the proportions of vest, pants and shirt are just right.

Great week and excellent deployment of lemmingility! #4 and #1 are my favorites. I think the issue in #3 is the starkness of the white as Sveta said, but with that it still looks good!

Great inspiration outfits. #1 is my favorite but you look fab in all of them. On #3 I think she just has a bigger statement necklace, cuffed sleeves and booties. I like your version but play around with it if you like. I think you inspired me to do some ink outfits too!

These are all stellar outfits. Re #3 the only thing I notice is the headless woman's sweater is not quite as stark a contrast as your white sweater, however I think your look is just as good. And that military vest is awesome, is it leather? It has a gorgeous finish.

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I do think I messed up with not showing the shirt cuffs - having the peek of blue would have made a bit of difference. I thought the white would work (rather than cream), esp since Angie did her "tomato red, blue and white" formula - and the fact I look like death in cream! But it is a lot of black on bottom, which I realized... but "she" did that! Anyway, probably just a few things here and there would have improved it a bit. Including a different white sweater Was fun to try.

And I'm SO glad there is more navy/ink around these days!

I like all of your outfits, Elizabeth. I think your red skirt outfit looks just fine, and great idea to base an outfit on pinterest. I'm too lazy for that but should get motivated. You really look great in ink. And now you and Sveta have me eyeing up that vest. Go figure
