Thanks all! I appreciate the comments on my hair (which I love/hate) and how well it works with long earrings (which I also love/hate).
Sometimes I worry that short hair + long earrings can so easily venture into "new agey hippie mama older woman" territory -- no offense to any new agey hippie mamas out there -- because I love that style on others, but it's not really my personal aesthetic. What I liked so much about these particular earrings is that they are so graphic, bold, and firm (rather than loose and dangly).
Marble: the little fringe is leather. They also come in a black version, but I like how the white stands out so much - they also feel more springy to me.
Aida: Thanks for the glasses love. I've been buying readers randomly for several months trying to find a pair that I really like and I think these are the winners. Bold enough without being too overwhelming for my face, and very comfortable. I'm so glad you like them.
Janet: Start a jewelry thread! I've been evolving in this area lately. It would be interesting to see what others are doing.
Lisap: I hope you get Glossier soon. It's quite possible that I've drunk the Koolaid, but I find their products to be really good quality and very well-priced. I use the stretch concealer, brow boy, and the lip stain, and I love them all. (I think I got all three together in a set for $40 with a coupon; without the three were $50.) They are all daily use products for me. I'm interested in trying some of the skincare too; she has masks that look really interesting. (If you are interested in trying any of the makeup let me know and I will be happy to send you a care package.)
