I mentioned on some threads recently that I haven't been wearing winter skirt outfits much this season, so I thought I'd try to change that today. One reason I haven't been reaching for my skirts is that the thought of tights and slips is kind of daunting, but I circumvented that today by wearing leggings (Uniqlo heattech, since it's kind of too cold for tights anyway), and this skirt is fully lined so it doesn't require a slip. My cream cable sweater on top - this sweater is fast becoming a wardrobe MVP! It's so simple to just pop on a big sweater (with layering tee or tank) and it has textural interest and warmth all built in already. Also took a snap of the outfit with my green coat, giant handknit blanket scarf, and slouchy beanie, because I liked how it all looked together!

Also, I finally got my specs back! I don't know if you guys have noticed, but for the last few weeks I've been wearing my ancient (and not as stylish) Warby Parker specs. These were actually my backup backup specs, i.e. my third best pair. In a ridiculous turn of events I managed to break or lose BOTH of my pairs of Rivet and Sway Spitfires within a span of two weeks. First, my tortoise/green ones spontanenously broke one day right before I was to leave for Athens - literally the temple just snapped with no provocation and they fell off my face while I was minding my own business. I did not sit on them or anything! Anyway I contacted the company and they agreed it seemed like a freak accident caused by a defect so they told me to send them back and they'd repair or replace them for free. Fine, so I started wearing my other pair of black spitfires instead. The next week I went to Athens, where if you remember, I got my bag, which contained my black Spitfires, stolen. I was wearing sunnies at the time, and ended up having to wear them for three days straight until I got back to the US! At which point I was down TWO pairs of specs and ended up in the Warby Parkers. So then I waited for a while for my repaired green spitfires to arrive, which they never did. After a while (a month since I sent them in) I finally got my act together enough to contact them to ask about the repair. It turns out they had some kind of snafu with the return processing and the new "order" never went through. They were very apologetic about it, and once it was straightened out, I got the new ones (they ended up just replacing them) quickly, and now I have my good specs again!
