WIW: a white blazer orphan

I bought this blazer this summer for a dressy event. Haven't worn it since, but forced myself today! Could this be considered a winter white? A student complimented me on my outfit.

What do you think? Suggestions most welcome!

Sweater: BR
Blazer: Aqua
Shoes: Purple frye oxfords
Jeans: Kut from the Kloth skinnies
Big gold watch

I like the look, Isis.

For me personally it would be all about the texture of the jacket and its weight in reference to the sweater and pants. I am a bit fussy about that, but not everyone has these irrational ideas. Also, even for me, it depends somewhat on the climate. For example, you could probably wear a cotton jacket without any problem right now (you're out west, right?). Whereas for me, in my climate, it would start feeling a little seasonally inappropriate.

It's a lovely blazer. I wonder why you didn't wear it over the summer? Was it just too hot? I'm not sure what constitutes winter white. Maybe it's the shade or the fabrication. Either way, this is a great outfit. I love your long hair!

Yes, I just saw that Angie has the sweater in the store! Don't you love how soft it is?

It IS warm here....it's a rayon blend jacket, soft, the sweater is soft, the jeans are jeans.....no snow here. So perhaps a white jacket is OK?

ETA: Claire, you are exactly right. Ridiculously too hot here in the summer. Way too hot for a jacket. It's all I can do to wear clothes....

I think the outfit looks amazing.

I have a white blazer orphan too! It is linen. And yes, it's way too hot in summer to wear a blazer! It works in Spring over dresses. Our Spring is super short though.

Another sweater twin here! (Though I got the white/navy but yes wear it with white pleather jacket). I love this look on you, the blazer is sharp and fits quite nice. Fabrication sounds appropriate for your climate. Love the purple shoes -- nice touch! If you added a floral scarf you'd have Angie's timeless formula.

I am having the same problem with my white jacket. It's too hot in summer to wear a jacket and I am just not feeling white cotton right now... I should try to style it, you and LIsa have done such a nice job with these winter whites.

I think the fabric rather the the shade of white determines whether you can wear a white item as it gets colder. I think this jacket passes muster for winter and loojs great with hat striped top.

I agree with Kiwichick about the fabrication being key, though I know a lot of people don't really pay attention to that. If this jacket is an all-season fabric I think it's great to wear in winter! I've been debating getting a cream wool blazer because I like the idea of a white blazer on winter so much. Looks great with the stripey sweater!

Yes this is winter white and it works! I can see why your student complimented you, this is one of your best. I wish I could pull off oxfords like that. Sooooo cool............
