This week I decided to do a mini version of Rae's jacket challenge, where I wore a different jacket each day. As it turns out, I have 9 total so I might try to do the other 4 next week. I found this week pretty easy actually - I think only one of the 9 (a denim blazer that I did not wear this week) may be a possible orphan. I'm counting only indoors jackets (so, for me, this means no trenches, leather jackets, or denim jackets as those are all outerwear for me). Would you believe that I bought 8 of the 9 within the last year? I blame Angie and YLF for my blazer obsession...
1-2. Monday: Cool tie-dye pattern Ines Raspoort blazer in lightweight wool (she is a Belgian designer, I found this at Century 21 in NYC and have never seen another piece by her).
Ines Raspoort blazer, Dorothy Perkins top, Red Engine pants, Portlandia booties, Georg Jensen pendant necklace
3: Tuesday: lightweight knit Nic+Zoe blazer. Super comfy and easy to wear across all seasons. Went for a lighter color palette here; I like the combo of turquoise and red!
Nic+Zoe blazer, handknit top, Vince jeans, Naot boots, Longchamps bag
4: Wednesday: Gap Academy blazer. I've been wearing this one a ton since buying it a few weeks ago. It works with pants, skirts, dresses, and even shorts!
Gap blazer, Tulle dress, naot boots, Macy's necklace
5-8: Thursday: white Greylin blazer. This is the blazer whose seasonal appropriateness I was asking about earlier. Most people said they thought it would be OK for the season as long as it wasn't a summery material (too lightweight or linen or something). It's a cotton blend and not super thin, so I thought it might work. Tried to bookend it with lighter boots, which match the taupey ruffle trim on the blazer, and a lighter bag. The blue top is not as sheer IRL as it seems in the photo! Bonus shot of my blue coat that I pulled out for the first time this season. The leaf ring is from Etsy and I have not worn it for a while; I had forgotten how much I liked it!
Greylin blazer, Dorothy Perkins top, Vince jeans, Remonte Dorndorf boots, Sydney Love subway map purse, Etsy ring, Laundry coat, handknit wool hat.
9-12: Friday: for Fuchsia Friday! Black Aqua jacket from Bloomingdale's purchased at the NYC meetup last year with Angie. It was freezing today so I layered a handknit hoodie under it a la Ines de la Fressange. Lots of cozy layers kept me nice and toasty! The scarf was really only worn outdoors with my coat; I think the outfit is ALGO enough without it!
Aqua jacket, hankdnit hoodie, Bleu Claire tee (layered underneath the hoodie), Kut jeans, Sam Edelman boots, ??? scarf and socks, Gap bracelet, Ted Baker watch
