WIW: A touch of vintage

Ok, so maybe more than just a touch, more like a dollop

The dress is a navy Furstenberg-style wrap with a pattern I can't quite describe, navy tights, brown round toe pumps with a bow, brown knit belted cardigan, and vintage styled hair/makeup/accessories. I'm 34, is this look too mature for me?

The dress looks beautiful on you! With the cardigan the overall effect is a bit retro heavy, but you can certainly pull it off.

Your hair and makeup are beautiful - you are quite skilled at it, clearly! I love the dress, but think the cardigan is a little much in length and sheer volume for you - retro and volume not typically part of the same equation. I like cardigan, but just think you could really highlight the dress with a more fitted topper.

Thanks so much for your kind compliments! I do like makeup and hair styling. It's something I wasn't allowed to do much of growing up (I was raised in a Pentecostal household) so I daresay I go a bit overboard sometimes to make up for it haha!

I think the comments about the cardigan are spot on. I bet a more tailored, lighter weight jacket or smaller cardigan would look better, maybe in a bright color, and I do have some of those. I'll have to try it again in a few months, which will be a perfect spring outfit!

The hair is indeed, gorgeous! My arms are tired just thinking about trying to do my hair like that. And I love the makeup and glasses.

I adore wrap dresses and that one is really fetching, especially with the print. That said, I'm in agreement: I would do a short, more fitted topper, and perhaps in a really fun color. (Cherry red? Orchid? Chrisp white?) The cardigan hides all of the shape and lines of the wrap dress, at least to my eye.

Another suggestion: what about more color? I would be tempted to try more colorful tights. Overall the outfit feels a bit dark and heavy to me.

Just my thoughts. I love vintage, and I think it's a really great look on you!
