I wore this out doing errands on a very hot day this week, but in and out of arctic airconditioning. Usually I only wear this rather body con dress with a jacket over it, but I'll make an exception when it's in the 90's and humid. (I hope it doesn't look too inappropriate)
A friend's daughter had this necklace and I liked it so much I copied her. I found it for $16.99 at Zara! -unfortunately it looks like they're sold out now.

Coral/orange denim jacket: Sanctuary
Sandals: Eileen Fisher

Suz, It is just about straight out of Angie's formula, isn't it? Maybe I'm learning something even when I'm not realizing it!

Carole, so true! You can't beat a versatile LBD- I'd like to see your outfit! I'm doing preliminary planning of a travel capsule for an upcoming trip and I think this dress is going to be a key piece.

Denise, that one is very cool! Who knows, the Zara one may be a knockoff of that one. Or they both may be knockoffs of some other designer.

I think the dress looks just gorgeous. Not too body con on its own at all. I am not a fan of tribal jewellery however I do see how this works and lifts the dress and I guess it's a juxtaposition to the elegant dress but I find myself wanting to something silver and modern but I do realise that is my personal preference;). I see the necklace with jeans or a maxi dress ( unimaginative I know)

That coral color is incredible on you. And I think you managed to fit the dress onto your body just right. It's not too body con at all, and very flattering.

What a great choice for a hot day! I think the dress is less va-va voom here because the fit is elegant, the color is black, and the neckline and length are quite modest. Perfection! The jacket and the necklace add punch, and the shoes are elegant, but neutral and grounded. I think the dress would be a great capsule piece. Can't wait to hear about it!

I love it with or without the jacket too The only suggestion I have is to try it without earrings - just my opinion - I think the necklace is enough.

I have that exact necklace. I bought it in Austin in May. I almost wore mine today too.

Deborah, I understand what you're saying, an I do think a cool silver necklace would look nice, too. Here I'm trying for a more casual look for this dress and thought the tribal necklace would help dress it down a little. I need to look for some silver necklaces like the fabulous ones you have- I always admire yours!

Caro, yes, you're right, it probably would be better without the hoop earrings. The hoops are such a part of my daily uniform that sometimes I don't even remember that they're there! I'll try it with some simple studs next time!

When you look as great as you do in a slightly body-con dress, there is no need to wear a topper; you look great! And the necklace and the shoes are the perfect compliments to the dress; you've accessorized perfectly.

Tribal with LBD works well and I like the length of your coral jacket. It hits at just the right point. Pale sandals extend the vertical line -all looks smashing to me.
