I like it! The French vibe is very classy but not old-fashioned. There's something about the length of the roll of the jeans that seems a little off to me, though, although it's hard to tell from angled pictures sometimes. I want them to be just a tad longer...

I don't think this could be seen as trying too hard. It looks classic and conservative to me. Feeling trying too hard is another thing. People tell me I look good in peplums, but I feel trying too hard in them. Others may feel TTH in RATE, but I am right at home.

Love it- and not too "try " at all ! You're right though, the cuffs are a tad puffy - probably need to shorten the jeans a bit , nothing terribly serious though

Vicki, I had that thought also, and was actually going to have a burgundy belt on, but I didn't like how the sweater looked with the partial tuck, so I got rid of it.

I agree that the jeans roll is a little bulky (try only doing one big cuff?) but otherwise, I think this looks great. I see absolutely no TTH (not that there is anything wrong with *trying* anything) -- it's a simple, fashionable look.

It works for me, I think you look great! You could also swap out the black jeans for blue ones if you wanted to get another color in there (besides red or burgundy).

What's this I hear about rolls on cuffs being too bulky? Is this something else I have to worry about doing wrong? I'm off to read IK's rolling thread...

No not too hard, you really look fab! I would say the same as Aida unroll them once, or turn them up in one big cuff, but a little lower overall, as Janet said.

You look really good. I like and wear this style, and do not see it as trying too hard at all. Quite the opposite, it looks effortless. Breton and capri, simple, timeless, everyday wear. The shoes and handbag elevate your look and give it sophistication. You have done well, though one less roll on the pants would look better.
