I had to travel across the country this week to visit my dad in the hospital after he had a major stroke.

It was a difficult trip, but I wanted to celebrate this wardrobe item that has been a go-to for me. I’ve had my Johnny Was sweater duster for a bit over a year and it just hit the 30 wears mark. I wore it on both plane trips, as it’s warm and has a lovely, large hood that’s great for blocking light and sleeping on an airplane. I also wore it one day at the hospital.

I got compliments each time, including one from my father, who had severe brain damage, and wasn’t always able to make lucid conversation.

Workhorses don’t have to be plain to go the distance!

Sorry for the photo quality...this was snapped in an airport restroom. And ignore the hair. It was an early flight, I slept on it still wet the night before, and just didn’t fuss in the morning.
