WIW: a few work outfits, trying to stay festive

Trying to stay with Angie's idea of dressing festive with everyday outfits. It can help keep me in a good mood when things get hectic!

1-2: Worn to teach sewing classes. Espresso ponte knit asymmetrical lantern-shaped skirt (made by me); white tee with embroidered fleur de lis graphic (Caslon tee; I did the embroidery by machine); black jean jacket with flocked scroll pattern and faux-fur collar; black tights; black stretch boots (Donald J. Pliner, Nikko).

3-4: Worn to work. Brown wool cropped pants (made by me); cranberry silk blouse (Eileen Fisher); taupe shredded-knit cashmere blend cocoon shrug (made by me); brown metallic booties (Donald J. Pliner, Tilly).

6-5: Worn to work. Denim blue sweatdress (made by me); blue and red plaid scarf; black leggings (Lysse); black distressed suede boots (Donald J. Pliner, Devi).

Great set of outfits, firecracker. My hands down fav is 3-4, just because I like those colours on you a lot. But the shapes and proportions in all three are just wonderful. Put my name on the sweatshirt dress order list as well. Love it.

Sweet sister, these are fantastic! I absolutely adore these 'made by me' items. And that machine embroidered tee is super cool. My favorite is the sweatdress - did you make that on your serger? I am still considering getting one, haven't pulled the trigger yet because of the steep learning curve.

Oh my goodness me: these are stunning! (I think I remember when you made that sweater dress, I just love it). I can't pick a fave here--these are all fab and all different--but I am gobsmacked by the gorgeousness of your lantern skirt. It's amazing on you!

Karie, I made it partly on the sewing machine and partly on the serger. The stitching you see around the yoke (horizontal across the chest) is done with the coverstitch part of my serger. If your machine dealer offers classes and you can take them, you'll be comfortable with a serger in no time.

Oy, sweatshirt dress is so cool.
And love the berry and taupe also. I think this outfit with the cropped pants is working better for the pants, yes? Something about proportions or juxtaposing the top and sweater. Dunno but I like it.
