WIW 8/31: Basic black for a dance concert

My beloved tap teacher produced a fantastic dance festival this weekend and I attended the matinee performance today. It was quite warm and I still haven't attended to the not-fit-to-be-seen pedicure, so I decided on basic black with the trusty white loafers. I thought the cognac bag was a nice contrasting touch -- what do you all think? Be honest!

In house news, the pergola outside the master bedroom is nearing completion, but I can see we will need some outdoor curtains for the late-afternoon sun on my west-facing patio!

I love the loafers with that outfit! I do think the bag adds a fun contrast. It's unexpected and on-trend. The more typical thing would be a bright bag, right? What strikes me is that the bag coordinates with your glasses--I like that look.

The house progress is exciting!

Jjsloane, I know, right? The Florida trip was about 9 years ago and this tunic is probably the oldest piece in my wardrobe that I still actually wear (it was a little snug before the big weight loss). You just never know...

The black and white colour combination works well! I like your choice of handbag too .... give the neutral tones of your outfit, any colour handbag would work but your bag looks nice.

Your yard is really coming together. I am attaching a pic of a retractable pergola curtain that I thought would be very functional for keeping the sun off our garden doors on the west side. We put in a gazebo instead but I still think it is a cool idea.
