WIW 8/16: Life imitates the telly

I saw a character on TV last night wearing this combination of magenta and coral with a denim jacket, and I really wanted to wear it to work today. But I don't wear denim to work, so I chose this purple cardi instead. Happiness factor is pretty high!

Magenta pencil skirt: Halogen
Coral silk blouse: Nexx
Purple cardi: Costco
Striped scarf: street vendor in Cambodia
Orange/gold/tan pumps: Seychelles
"Snake" bag: Elliott Lucca

What do you think? And is anybody else watching and loving "DCI Banks?"

Another home run. I remember being told "dark cottons for August." I'd now say, nonsense. Wear beautiful bright glorious color combinations just like Mary.

Oh no, I didn't know there was a series. This last year I read all the Banks' novels and sent them on to my friend in OC. . Thanks! I hope to start watching the shows as of this weekend.

Signature MaryK! Such a stunning, vibrant colour combo, love it both without and without the blazer. If you ask me, everyone who gets to work with you or spend time with you on a daily basis must have an increased happiness quotient, because: how could one not smile when admiring your stunning outfits!

I remember you said/wrote that you wore a lot of black pre-YLF and weight loss. Is that really true? Do you have proof -- like a pic of your closet? Black just doesn't seem to fit your personality. . .I always love seeing your color combos BTW and how they always, always work.

I've seen DCI Banks only once. Are they airing on BBC America again? Unfortunately, I have to hope that Comcast On Demand is carrying my BBC-American Doctor Who, but I rely on PBS for Endeavor, one of my new favs.

Neon happiness. I just love the way the shoes bring it all together.

fun fact: I was out shopping with a 10 year old yesterdaywho loves neon. He said, "neon is a neutral". To which I said. "Absolutely". (The '80s gal in me was extra alive yesterday).
