WIW 8/14: Biz cas in a new-to-me shirt

I received a box in the mail yesterday from my YLF buddy Carter, who sent me a whole bunch of button-front shirts that don't work for her any more! Woo-hoo! I'm wearing one today and I just love it! Let's hear it for YLF hand-me-downs!!

Lilac shirt: DCC via Carter
Tan blazer: Olivia Moon
White pumps: Bandolino
White satchel: Banana Republic

I kind of like the range of neutral tones from bright white to oatmealy tan. What do you all think?

House update: The gaps in the floor where we knocked down the wall between the living room and dining room have been patched, and the floor is getting sanded in preparation for the new finish! Big fun!!

Suz, so funny! I started out with the orange pants this morning and was stymied by the accessories issue! All my scarves are packed away and it looked a little random without a piece to tie it together! But I yes! I will definitely give it a try when I have my whole wardrobe to play with!

It will be a great "transition into autumn" look late in September for you or even into October.

Or November or December or January, here in mild So Cal!

And I am convinced that the reason the house project is going so well is that my general contractor is a woman! She is the one who doesn't mess around!!

I like the mix of sandy neutrals, too! That is my goal for this fall/winter, sand box shades ^^ Looks super with the lilac shirt (how lovely of Carter to send your way!). Would also be fun paired with tomato red and French blue, when you get more of your wardrobe back of course.

Oh I saw this on the wall and gasped! I love you in the lighter neutrals & that lilac is perfect with them/on you. Your curls are so flattering too. You look light & bright but still serious & powerful. Awesome.

Mary I forgot to ask what color you are having the floor finished. It looks like it was in the lighter range before.

Dianthus, the floor is going to have one coat of "ebony" stain with a satin (no gloss) finish. It's basically going to be a medium tone, on the cool side rather than the warm side. It looks really nice with the light gray walls, white trim, and black doors.
