I’ve been a lifelong fan of thrift and consignment shopping. In the last few years I’ve had have had mixed success, sometimes bringing home things of poor quality, prints and styles that look dated, or things I just didn’t feel like wearing.

Recent postings by Roxanna, Suz, Shevia, and others have inspired me to try to up my game.

I recently started acupuncture treatments for my back muscle issues (which seem to be helping some), and remembered that right across the street from my acupuncturist’s office is a consignment ship I had not been in for quite a few years. Serendipity? Turns out they have really nice stuff. It’s in a pretty affluent town, has been around for years, and seems to have a loyal following of both sellers and buyers. Good formula.

Wore this to a “music on the patio” evening with DH at a local restaurant that is our usual birthday/anniversary place. It has fab food and a slightly dressier vibe than most places around us. errific Zydeco/Cajun band on a gorgeous evening. I was almost but not quite a little too wwarm in this outfit.

  • Cardigan – Nic & Zoe (visit #1 to the consignment store). Tags cut but feels like a linen blend. Love the print. If I’m wearing my “fit perfection” hat I’d probably shorten it a little but I don’t think I will, I’m kind of liking the longer length. (pics show front and back of the cardigan)
  • Tank – Liz Claiborne (visit #1) …the old brand before it was sold to JCP, which was so much nicer quality than it is today. Still had tags on! It sat in someone’s closet for over a decade unworn.
  • Jeans – a Macy’s brand from last year.
  • Sandals – Rockports (visit #2 to same consignment store). First time I’ve ever bought second hand shoes. These looked hardly worn, perfect color for me, and very comfortable. All the straps adjust with Velcro, which has become my new favorite sandal style because I can make it tight enough on my low volume feet.
  • Bag – Vince Camuto Aug 2018 at Nordstrom Rack
  • Bracelet – Kate Spade bought at TJMaxx a few months ago.
  • Watch – Ann Klein bought earlier this year.
