WIW for casual Fri - trouble shooting needed!

I find casual friday harder to dress than for the rest of the week! (Like Shipskitty )Plus I am reluctant to wear the same outfit as last Fri, though I often repeat outfits in the rest of the week

Here's today. I feel it is lacklustre and am particularly over this shirt - not structured enough for me.

Love to have your suggestions, comments and criticism.

Ok I will have a go! It is not a great photo, so I might be totally wrong.
I don't think this is a bad look at all! But it's not overly striking. I do like each individual piece. But I wonder if all three pieces you are wearing are basics, meaning there is no standout piece. I think it you mixed any of these items out for one bolder piece, it would work as a more defined "look".

I agree. I think you need to swap one item with a statement piece of some kind. A scarf might be a good solution, or a big necklace. Or bright shoes?

Otherwise the three pieces (which are fine) kind of blend to a homogenous look that is perfectly nice but doesn't wow.

I like the colors of the sweater and the slacks worn together, but I would like to see a statement scarf or necklace.

I think Lucy is right, Anne. From what I've seen of your work wardrobe, you usually like to add an interesting piece to your outfits, such as a draped top or skirt, or a pattern. By comparison, this casual outfit is plainer, just missing the extra little twist. Your idea of a patterned scarf would certainly give your outfit a lift.

A full tuck would add a bit more structure, displaying more of the belt. You could also create two folded faux pleats in the back, which would smooth out the front of the shirt. My DH does this to trim fullness from his dress shirts.

I actually love the look -- interesting color and silhouette!

How about using a jacket instead of a cardigan? It would give you more structure and style. Could you wesr the bottom half with a graphic tee and jacket, or is that too casual?

Maybe just a few refinements to make it special? A pop of color or shine, adjusting the tuck. It actually looks pretty good so you're on the right track.

I agree there's something not quite right with the shirt, but this is still a great outfit. Fabulous colours on you. I declare: you know a closet full of these colours

Ok, and I'm the New Claire... badges are starting to look like price tags to me in pictures - even after so many of my own featuring *my price tag.* Lol.
