This is today's church outfit. The dress is one of my favorite brands (Lauren Ralph Lauren), but fit and flare style rather than the sheath style I favor for work. That and the print seem to make it a little less "business" looking. On the down side, it doesn't seem to be quite as figure flattering (in my eyes). The topper is certainly not needed for the outside temps, but indoor AC requires it, as usual. I'm noticing that I'd like to get some metallic wedge sandals for the occasions I wear a summer dress and don't have to be on my feet all day. All I have are flat shoes suitable for work.

Pretty dress and pattern. I agree, sandals would go well for a non-work look. I’d also like to see a lighter colored topper if you have one....maybe even a denim jacket if you’d wear one to church.

Thanks, kellygirl. I do like florals but am picky about which ones. Graphic florals often appeal to me. I agree that having different silhouettes makes dressing more interesting.

SarahD8, I do think the wedge sandals would make all of my dresses (which I wear for all occasions, BTW, with the footwear I currently have) seem more suitable for occasions other than work.

Joy, I don't know why, but I seem to have a bit of a mental block against fit and flare for work. As I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure I've even worn fit and flare dresses to work. I teach elementary, but not the youngest classes, so it's totally do-able. I wonder why I have this mindset?

Aquamarine, I also thought the black was a bit dark but didn't have a cardigan that would coordinate. I don't know why I didn't think denim jacket. I will try that next time!

JAileen and jussie, thank you for the affirming words. If the dress gets YLF approval, I know the hang-ups are all in my head!

Alicewonderland, these aren't wedges, but they were on my Zappos favorites list. I wonder if they would work?

Do you have a white denim jacket? It would be fabulous with this dress when you need a topper. A pale gold metallic to bookend your hair could be super versatile.

I like those shoes on your Zappos list. I personally have a poison eye for wedges so I prefer those. A white cardigan or jacket would look nice.

Pretty dress with fab bold, graphic, and fun colors. I kinda like the idea of having different dress silhouettes for work/play; I don't have a work environment that would really make that reasonable but I could see that, if I did, it could definitely help keep those wardrobe separate (mine are allllll jumbled together ). A white denim jacket or cropped cardi would be super with this dress, especially if wearing with metallic or nude footwear. Those sandals you linked definitely seem worth a try!

Runcarla, I do have a white denim jacket I will try with this dress. That might be as close as I get to a "column of white."

Becky, I’m absolutely loving this graphic dress on you. It’s bold in a confident way. It feels to me like it’s coming from a place of poise.

I quite like the black cardigan in terms of the color and general style. My personal preference for myself would be to go one size bigger with it, and then give the sleeves a good roll up. But that’s as much a physical comfort thing for me as a visual one. I tend towards structure in my cardigan choices, but like still keeping the fit relaxed.

Thanks, 3style! I love the print, too. I think a bit of bold color in my dressing brings me joy (though I can appreciate looks without, too). I tend to wear most cardigans rather fitted. I think that's an aesthetic preference on me (I like roomier ones on others), but also practical, as I am a person who tends to get clothing caught on doors, handles, etc., and more streamlined fits mitigate this tendency.
