WIW 7/3: Sleeveless summer dress

I bought this sleeveless summer dress many years ago for a special occasion and wore it very rarely. This is a silk patterned dress and as it is dressy, to my mind, I wore it very rarely. I decided to wear it more often, because life is so short and it is stupid to keep it for special occasions.

On Saturday evening I was at the Philharmonic concert, the last in this season, as it was very hot I wore these dress, bronze gold sandals,
rose gold clutch and necklace (#1). So I usually wear this dress or with silver flats, dark navy patent bag and silver necklace. (#2).

I tried to style this dress to be a little casual: white ballet flats and white bag and turquoise necklace (#3), and the same necklace, ankle straps sandals and cognac bag.(#4). Did I do this well, any
suggestions for improvement are welcome.

My question is can I wear a sleeveless dress yet or no more,
I mean in my age? Please be honest.

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't wear a sleeveless dress. You look gorgeous in this one. The pattern is very pretty. I love all four different styling options on you. I wanted to pick a favorite, but I just can't. It's great you decided to wear it more often, as Angie says "wear the heck out of your nice clothes"

It is a gorgeous dress, and you look beautiful in it. I see no reason for you to don't wear it, or anything else sleeveless - you look good in it. I love all the ways you have styled it, and you should wear it more often for sure.

You can absolutely wear sleeveless dresses. My favourite outfit is #1, because the golden accessories harmonize so well with your hair.

Fantastic dress! I really like your necklaces with the dress. They're long enough for the neckline. You can wear sleeveless.

I was looking at my own arms the other day and not liking their exposure. Then I saw this lady in a squeezy tank that had seen a lot of washings, and I'll be honest, it was a no go.

I think the neckline combined with the cut of the arm hole and fit through the body are what's key. I'm jus' sayin'... I think I can make myself look decrepit...

You look great in this dress in all combinations. There is no age cutoff for a classic dress that fits so beautifully. Love the pattern, which looks so good with all your bag and shoe combinations. Do wear the heck out of it!

It is all about the armhole - I just tried some strategic shrinking in the dryer of an inexpensive tank top and I'm crossing my fingers.

Lovely dress, and you look lovely in it, Mirjana. I like all iterations, but especially the first one, since I really like the gold accessories with it, and how they harmonize with your hair, as Cat says.

It's a pretty dress and I can see it being dressed up or down. I looked critically at your arms (as you'd asked) and I think you have nice arms-- so no need to worry about the sleeveless dress.

Amazing how you went from "I never wear this" to four great (and different) outfits. My favorites are the ones with neutral (gold and cognac) bag and shoes. Both the navy and the white seem, at least in these photos, to steal attention from the dress, which is a shame with such a great dress.

I didn't notice anything one way or the other about your arms, so I'd say there's nothing to worry about there.

You look beautiful. Even though you are baring your arms, the overall look of the dress is quite modest (as the dress is loose, high necked and knee length). So I don't think you need to worry about whether it is "age appropriate". The first outfit is my favourite, but they are all good.

Laura G, I tried to style the dress not to steal attention from it and agree that is gold and cognac combinations .
Brooklyn, yes I worried about "age appropriate " not to be silly granny and the first is my favorite too.

The dress looks great, and I think your arms look good, and not a cause for concern in any respect.

It is a very pretty print, and I would definitely think about white ballet pumps. I might even think about it over white jeans may be.

Of course, you can wear sleeveless dresses.
All renditions work. Personal favourites are #1 for dressy and #3 for casual (without the necklace : just optical white shoes&bag - that's the minimalist in me talking)

Jane good idea with white ballet flats and white jeans I will try that.
AmyIsabella, I have sleeveless lace blouse and I will do wear it.
Skylurker, I tried first without necklace and to mind too skin and with necklace I camouflage that.

You look fabulous in this dress and can certainly wear sleeveless. I ask the same question every so often and am told that I can wear sleeveless at age 70. I like showing more skin when wearing dark colors to break up the dark, and in summer because I feel so much cooler than with a sleeve of any length. I like all your stylings but like the first one best.

Of course you can wear sleeveless at any age and if I would have your slim arms and shoulders I would wear them all the time!:-) This dress is particular beautiful in monochromatic silk and straps are wide enough for a dressy and ladylike vibe, love the slightly asymmetrical drape and the bubble hem! Wow all the stylings are gorgeous!
