WIW 7/3: Red and Blue - YouLookFab Forum

I wore this red Zara romper yesterday rather than today because I didn't want to wear polyester in today's heat. No white in the outfit unless you include the silver in the necklace. Paired it with a Free People bralette which shows through the back.

I was actually at work when these pictures were taken. This long weekend, I've been going in to do about 30 minutes of work for an experiment that has long time delays. I've struggled a bit with what to wear....almost no one is there, and I like using the weekends to wear fun casual outfits that are not work appropriate. I've generally just worn the fun outfits with a sweater on top while I'm in the work building, but I'm still wearing shorter shorts than I would be on a normal work day, e.g. I'm always a little worried of being judged if I run into someone more senior, on the other hand they could be impressed by my dedication in coming to work on a long weekend Plus in the lab itself we have to wear long lab coats...so I've just gone with it. If I have to wear "work clothes" every single day all day for just a half hour's worth of work time I'd go nuts!

You look fab in that romper! It's a holiday weekend so you get more latitude as far as what to wear, plus, as you say, you are wearing a labcoat anyway.
I hope your experiment works well so that you can go out and enjoy.

I love the creative use of the bralette with the romper.

This afternoon dropped my daughter off to work (at a clothing boutique) and was checking out the merch. There was a romper in such a nice print, and I was wondering if anyone on YLF was wearing rompers. I don't believe I would. DD sold one while I was there, but said that no one who is not very young has even considered buying it.

JoyceB: the experiment is working pretty well, thanks! That's part of the reason why I went in--to get a head start on it so I can move on to other things during the week. It only takes a half hour of setup but the actual process takes 13.5 hours of runtime. I live a 40 minute walk away from work so I've tended to walk there while also going to shops, cafes, etc. along the way. And yesterday I went sailing straight after doing my work.

UmmLila: I've seen tons of women wearing rompers in Boston this year. They seem to be much more popular this year than last. I was out on Newbury St/Copley Place. last weekend and every other woman under the age of 30 seemed to be wearing one, and a good proportion of women under 40 were too.

As an *older* person, I think I would only be taken aback by this romper if the back were the front and you weren't wearing anything underneath AND you weren't wearing a lab coat. Not into plunging necklines on anything but nighties. . . I can't imagine expecting normal dress code clothing on a long weekend when no one is expected to show up at work; safety would be my prime consideration.
