I'm on vacation this week, and doing all those things I don't get done when I'm in head-down go-to-work-mode. Booking a mammogram, requesting gov't pension information updates, getting a manicure, returning things , and updating my calendar . The idea of collecting my pension (not yet but in 2-3 yrs ) , ruminating over my what-seems-like-too-little holiday time at this point in my life and job issues ......all of it has me in a bit of funk right now. The weather here is just fine - not hot and no fires or floods, but it hasn't been sunny enough this week to hang by the pool, which usually keeps me occupied for an hour or two a day. I also seem to be misplacing and losing things more often than I'd like to admit ...which worries me. I've now misplaced the spare car keys which also hold our mail room and pool area access keys. And I had them 2 days ago. Wtf??

Today's errands included getting blood drawn at a lab - and when I went to leave for my appt , the lab req wasn't where I thought it was . Where was it? In the bottom of the kitchen garbage bag covered with coffee grounds and who knows what else. Really impressive.

That said, I was pretty happy with my outfit today ! Yay! I think I've hit on a look I can count on that will also transcend seasons. These are new pants (I've upgraded 3 items since my big closet purge and got rid of the things they replaced ) are from Lululemon and I love them . The wide leg as a lot of movement and the leg slit make them seem dressier and more interesting than what I usually wear. I plan to wear these to work and for going out casually. They sat percolating in my closet for a week while I considered them. Out went 2 cheaper /lower quality pair .

The sleeveless cream top is a scuba knit with a lowered armhole and vented hem detail. I wear it with a fitted white stretch cami so there's an interesting bit of contrast under the arm.

I also upgraded my Birkenstocks after 2 years of persevering through a pair I didn't like. I had been wearing a pair of double-strapped platform Arizonas from their vegan Papillio line, and hated them. Very stiff, heavy ,inflexible, and the fake leather was dull and drab. But..... I spent the money and felt I had to make them work......until I couldn't anymore. These new ones are 2x the price but are also much more luxurious looking and far more feminine. I'm happy I took the leap and have actually found someone willing to buy my old ones .

I picked up this Madewell bag quite unexpectedly at the Bay recently . Great sale price for a leather and coated burlap bag and it kind of jumped in front of me considering I wasn't even looking at bags. I love it and use it all the time now. No find available - I think it's sold out .

Thanks for reading - and any outfit or how-not-to-lose-things feedback is always appreciated. And yes, I already have Pebblebee tags on some keys and in my wallet . And yes, I know you have to put things back in the same place every time to avert these crises. Ugh.

Extra photo of my Barbie pink nails . Jill and I went for a manicure together and fell into the Barbie mania . The trailers for this movie are so ridiculous and fun we’ve decided we’re going to see it .
