WIW 7/11, 7/12, 7/13: Gray and tan, Karen copycat, navy stripes

1. It has been super hot here so I have been taking full advantage of my lightweight skirts and jackets. This is a gray St. John Sport skirt and Talbots tan pinstripe blazer from the consignment store, along with an Olivia Moon pinted top and my fave Jessica Simpson leopard pumps. The black studded tote is Coach via eBay.

2. I planned this outfit the night before and imagine my surprise when I saw Angie's lovely Karen wearing a similar formula on the very same day! Black bottoms (skirt handed down from a friend), black printed top (Escada via consignment), white blazer (NY&Co.), black bag (same Coach tote), bright shoes! Unfortunately these new lipstick red Jessica Simpson pumps are too tight and need a trip to the cobbler to be stretched! Yowch!

3/4. I wore this Talbots silk blouse for my recent photo session and decided it needed to get out more. Teamed it with my fave new navy J Crew skirt, AT Loft striped blazer, Seychelles pumps and Michael Kors gold bag. I am loving this outfit today!

All look fabulous, but I am particularly wowed by #3. That blouse looks amazing on you, both fit and color.

You outdo yourself each and every day, MaryK, but I absolutely adore the advanced pattern mixing of that first outfit. Understated colours by your usual standards, but such a delightful wealth of interest. Brava!

#1 has great depth and subtle repetition that I love. #4 unexpected combo that looks breezy and beautiful - and a little bit French. Love those Seychelles pumps. YOW!

I'm crazy in love with #3/4! That blouse pairs so well with navy and I really like how the stripes in the blazer mimic the navy piping on your shoes.

Wow, 3-4 is my fave, too! That blouse definitely deserves its time in the sun. You would never know the weather was anything but perfect to look at you.

OMG Must find a way to copycat #3-4! Love the chain ring blouse, I have a Cache one in hot pink and gold. Must wear it soon!! You look lovely in all of these. For some reason these feel a bit more conservative than your usual outfits.

Rita, that cracks me up! "More conservative than usual" = Leopard pumps/pattern mixing, bright red sky-high pumps/giant red bracelet, bare shoulders/pattern mixing/big shiny gold bag. ROFL!

Lovely as usual Mary! Great subdued neutrals with bits of brights (I had to re-read that you said it was hot, as I was thinking "hmm this seems like Mary is ready for cooler weather!" ). #3 is just amazing, LOVE everything about it!!

4 is my absolute favorite followed by 1. The only thing I'm unsure of is the skirt in 2. A bit long or big? I'm just used to you in more pencil silhouette but I love the rest and the idea of it all (except sorry about the ouchy shoes)

These are all fabulous and summery and chic! Sorry to hear about those beautiful red pumps pinching your feet! I love the bright print top with the crisp white jacket over it, and the pattern mixing in the third look is TDF.

You know, I would kind of like to see you turned loose as a window/mannequin dresser. You come up with such creative combinations that totally work. I am such a fan of the shoes in 3/4. Those were a gift from hubs, right? Good man.

Hi MaryK. I think you look stunning in photo 3. Love all the elements of your ensemble. Love the rest of your outfits too with the jackets...sassy summery sophisticated. Love the pairings especially in photo 1 of the shoes, skirt, and blazer...love each of them, but sweetly sophisticated together in this ensemble. I definitely can see the verstility of all of your pieces mixed and matched even with denim...

Jeane, I'm busted! I think that black skirt is a bit big for me! So off it went to the YLF swap yesterday, and I'm pretty sure it's on its way to Claire. Hopefully it will fit her!
