The weather is cold enough to day that I can finally pull out my new autumn/winter wardrobe! It's snowing today. The ground is too warm for it to stick, but it's snowing nonetheless. Tomorrow is forecasted to be 61F and sunny, so today is the day for chunky knitwear!
Inspired by last week's pine and rust combo, today is deep gold and plum.
I am loving the dramatic color combination of deep antique gold with sensuous red plum! WOWZER!
Debuting my new City Chic bootcut jeans. They have a deep 2-3 inch hem, and I adore them. They run small; I had to size up one size for a comfortable fit. (Not at all loose or baggy, but not skin tight.)
I purchased two Eloquii chunky knit maxi cardigans: this one in gold and last week's in pine green. I am curious to see how much I wear them. They are a good test run before hand knitting a chunky gauge sweater in nicer yarns. Fun side note: The sweater I bought is the exact sweater Girl With Curves Tanesha Aswasthi is modeling in my Finds photo below! (She resells on Poshmark.) It is a real fan girl moment for me! Someday I may try styling the cardigan as she did.
Loving the pointy toe boots with the bootcut jeans! While I never fully loved the bootcut and flare jeans of the early 2000s, I am loving them now when paired with point toe shoes! Only thing is the jeans are hemmed to wear with heels. SO... I need more pointy-toe heels. Or to hem them for pointy toe flats. I would get more wear from hemming them, but I just adore the drama of the longer length with heels. Will re-evaluate at some point. Advice welcome, too.
Accessories are
- new vintage Avon cat necklace
- chunky glamorous earrings
- silk leopard head scarf (Amazon)
- Suede chocolate pointy toe boots (Target)
Makeup includes
- Duochrome teal and red-brown-plum eyeshadow, from Laura Gellar Hidden Gems palette (discontinued; MAC Brown Blue pigment is very close)
- Burgundy-chocolate eyeshadow as eyeliner, from Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette (discontinued)
- L'Oreal Raisin Rapture lipstick
- New makeup combination for me; I really like it!
Perfume is Narcisco Rodriguez Musc Noir Rose. I chose it because it's a Floriental (my wheelhouse). It's nice, a sweeter Floriental, without bridging into gourmand territory. It contains pink pepper, plum, musk, rose, tuberose, bergamot, amber, and vanilla. Only complaint is the base note is vanilla, and I do not like vanilla in perfumes unless it's a tiny note. (No idea why; just don't.) However, I am enchanted by the plum and floral notes in this. Sooooo... I might try a full-size bottle once the decant sample is gone.
What do you think? Anyone else pulling out their autumn/winter wardrobe yet?
