WIW: 70's flare and questions

I am going to lunch with my husband today and want to try something different. I'd appreciate feedback. Telling me that I am off my rocker is a-ok too.

This is a thrifted silk shirt that I had the flouncy cuffs removed. Other players: Paige high waisted flare jeans, old cognac sandals, big sunglasses that I bought last year and almost never wear because I usually don't wear contacts, cognac belt. I was able to take one picture with my SLR on a timer before the battery died.

Are the shoes too dated? They are comfy if nothing else!

Just added pic 5- this is probably how I'd kick it. My trusty hat helps.

You look amazing, very fresh and current. I like it both with and the without belt. I think the shoes are plenty current and work really well with the outfit.

I think it's a great outfit! And the shoes have that 70's vibe about them too, so go for it. I'm no belt expert, and I know most YLF'rs believe in them strongly, but I actually prefer this without.

I think your shoes, blouse and jeans work really well together - on their own, with sunglasses (my favorite), with belt or with both
About the necklace, it sort of "vanished" in this outfit (it doesn't compromise your outfit, but it's small and discrete, so it sort of disappears). Maybe something more rustic or eye catching instead of this necklace and belt would look interesting with your outfit (like a long and/or big pendant or a large bracelet or a leather handbag?). About your hat, I think it has a different vibe than your outfit. I would try it with your flare jeans and a tank top or tee and walking shoes instead.

I like this a lot. The hat adds a nice androgynous touch to an otherwise feminine outfit, and I'm all for that. Shoes are classic enough not to look dated.

I think whether you belt it is up to you, it looks good either way. Without is more current, with looks a little more finished to my eye. But I like belts. Which is more comfortable?

Thanks for feedback! My accessory options are limited right now, so I can't try many different options on. I've opted to keep the shades and drop the hat/belt/necklace.

I like the accessories with the fit. 70's flair with a current vibe. I did not know you could remove the flounce from the sleeves. Was it very expensive? The blouse is so pretty. I think you fid a wonderful job styling this fit.

Approprio, I sent my message, then saw your post. I am comfy with or without the belt, so I opted to remove it since I lean a bit minimalist. I feel more comfy with the hat vs. sunglasses and your comment about androgyny is probably why. The sunglasses take me out of my comfort zone. Sometimes I am uncertain about whether to keep with what I am comfortable with and when to push my limits.

Ledonna, I took it to a tailor and it was maybe $10. I probably could have done it myself, but I find silk hard to sew. The tailor just removed the seam and then sewed a straight hem. She returned the flounces in case I wanted to sew them back on. She seemed torn about doing the work since she liked the original sleeves and had several shirts like this.
