WIW 6/7: Drinking the Nexx Kool-Aid

A big order from Nordstrom arrived yesterday, including the Nexx silk shirt in a variety of colors and some Halogen cotton blend pencil skirts. Oh my! This shirt is FANTASTIC! Most of them are going back because I can't afford to keep 'em all even though I want to, but this combination, featuring the top in "hibiscus," is a keeper.

Silk shirt: Nexx
Print skirt: Halogen
Gray patent pumps: Madden Girl
White blazer: NY & Co.
Gray "croc" tote: Talbots via eBay

A note on the blazer: It had some spots on the lapels that the dry cleaner wasn't able to remove. Figuring it was a goner anyway, Hubby suggested tossing it into the washing machine with bleach, and lo and behold it came out looking new! I hung it up to dry and gave it a little love with the steamer, and voila! Saved! Lesson: Don't always believe the "dry clean only" care label on a cotton/polyester blend.

Squeeee! That color is the best on you! Looooove, and I want every color of that darned Nexx shirt, too. *Man* I wish it would go on sale! High five to DH for coming up with a win for that jacket.

Pour me a glass of that Kool-Aid too, you look fabulous! I think you chose the right color to keep and that pencil skirt looks so fresh and summery with it. This has to be my favorite outfit with the Nexx shirt so far, because it contains a print! LOVE! And my stain-removing hat is off to you for saving that fab, fitted blazer. Way to go!

Wow, very cool! I love these shirts, and it's nice that the sleeves can be shortened to work under 3/4 sleeve blazers. Glad to hear you were able to rescue the the blazer - it looks great, and so does the entire outfit!

Love this shirt! The colors are not quite right for me (just a little off the tones I can wear), so I've been looking at the Equipment ones on e-bay, but I am eying these as well. I bet every one of these looked fab - are you not giving us the choice of picking your colors?

Una and Jonesy, I also ordered the Strawberry Delight (too similar to Hibiscus), the Ibiza Blue (didn't really do it for me), Turf (LOVE! KEEP!), and the two purples, neither of which have arrived yet. Should have gotten the Turquoise, but it's gone now in my size. Darn.

Funny, but I am not a giant K or R girl. I generally go with my gut unless I am genuinely undecided. So I will pick my own colors, and you all can just be surprised! LOL

Oh, Mary, you're keeping the Turf? I can't wait to see it on you; I liked that color, too, but some of the online pics aren't the most true to life.

Great choices! I love the skirt and top. The print on the skirt is great - both color and location (I like the increased density at the bottom). I have the same attitude about clothes that are potentially ruined - I can't make it any worse by trying to wash it so I might as well try.

MaryK this is like killer x 100. I can't believe how incredibly awesome that hibiscus looks on you. You always look so young and fresh but with the burst of the blouse colour alone, without the blazer, you are at least 15 years younger than that glimmer in your parents eyes. Great save job on the blazer, it looks lovely on you with this outfit but I really do love that colour next to your visage and the burst of it is lovely. Maybe in a different outfit when you're not going to the office?

The skirt and rest of the outfit is simply divine too...got carried away on the blouse.

Suz, the skirt is a 4 regular. I'm a 2P in the seamed skirt. And don't look now, but they also have it in a fab blue print!
