Yesterday was date night, aka we decided half an hour before we left that we should go out to dinner.
It was cold out, so I needed to a) cover my legs and b) be able to fit what I wore underneath my lined magenta trench.
1) The base layers. I was wearing this purple t-shirt with jeans earlier in the day and threw on the blue halogen pencil skirt, black tights and my green Fluevogs. The top and skirt are much closer in value in real life, so it does have the effect of a column of color.
2) Base layer continued: The shoes are hard to see in the other photos, so here's a closeup.
3) Green cardigan to bookend the shoes. The cardigan just looked shapeless and sad. It's a round neck, not a v-neck and it gathers slightly at its bottom band. I really need a bright yellow or acid green v-neck cardigan to replace this one.
4) Black v-neck cardigan + green necklace for bookending. I liked this look, but the long necklace won't stay in place over my chest. It will pool in the middle or one strand will loop itself around one side.
5) Final outfit with black v-neck cardigan and green necklace looped around my neck twice. Not a 10, but at least I tried, right?
On a side note, this is the second time I've worn this petite pencil skirt and I felt pretty comfortable. I'm going to return the yellow regular size skirt (sob) and then grab whatever petite colors are available at NAS.
Thanks for reading. Honest and tactful commentary welcome.
