WIW 5/7: Purple peacock

Today I am giving the invocation at my Rotary luncheon so I wanted to step it up a notch and look Serious But Approachable. I hope this outfit did the trick.

Purple magenta pencil skirt: Halogen
Peacock print blouse: Michael Kors
Black blazer: Comptoir Des Cotonniers
Black patent pumps: Steve Madden
Black bag: Cole Haan

It's pretty cool here this week so I added some sheer nude hose so I wouldn't freeze walking to and from lunch like I did yesterday.

So fabulous! I love the way the black blazer grounds it but still lets the fun colors and pattern shine.

I have that skirt in a Wedgewood blue, but the fit is off. Yours seems to fit like it was made for you. Did you have it tailored? I wear a 2 or 4 usually, bought this in a 2 and it just seems too big and too long.

Tibbetts, this is the original Halogen seamed pencil skirt from several years ago, when they ran a full size large. So although I am usually a 2P, this is a 0P. I can't wear the Halogen seamed skirt in any of its iterations (from three years ago to the present) in the regular sizes -- they are too long and look all wrong on me. I have to have the petites. These days the 2P in the current style fits me just fine. (I'm 5'2", BTW.)
