WIW 5/24: Stripes and flowers and a canceled flight

Greetings from OAK airport! I am heading home this afternoon after a morning of more continuing education hijinx. The bad news is my flight was canceled; the good news is I'm getting an earlier flight. I'll take it!

I swear I think this outfit looks better in person than it does in the photo! I felt pretty chic until I saw the photo! Or maybe I'm kidding myself!

Jeans: Levi's
Striped sailor top: LL Bean (or maybe Land's End -- I can never remember!)
Navy jacket: GAP
Espresso booties: Bronx
Floral scarf: Target
Same ol' bag: Vince Camuto

Any suggestions to liven this up a bit? Do you think it needs livening up?

I think you look fab MaryK! I love the combination of the scarf with the handbag and you can never go wrong with stripes or navy. You're probably just tired and not seeing the fabulous for yourself! Safe flight home.

It looks great. I think the dim lighting is throwing it off in the picture. You've got a great mix of things going on there with the color block, stripes and floral!

I was thinking to myself "ooh, what is the word for that? It has to be CHIC." just from the thumbnail, Mary! You look impeccably stylish for a day of traveling.

I might have to sneak over to L.L. Bean and find a similar nautical top. I've been looking for one like that all week!

I see a fabulous travel outfit!! This is great. And guess what? We are about to become striped top twins, too. I think we should find a way to wear all our twinny pieces together one day and shoot pics!

Let's see...the striped top, the white jeans or the Halogen skirt in black, the Doc Saras. And our multicoloured scarves. I think we could do something with this!!

I think you look darling MK. The problem was the camera location-->which happened to be IN AN AIRPORT. You know even JLo felt fab on her In Style cover until they displayed the mag at Hudson News.
So do not fear! You have assembled the perfect travel outfit! If I saw you at an airport I would be like "oh she's so chic" and then "where'd she GET THAT BAG?"
