While my internship doesn't begin till June 6th, today I was invited to attend a weekly staff meeting of my future office, so I figured wearing a nice business casual outfit was the way to go. To my dismay, I was by far the most dressed up person there as it turned out that the office dressing is very casual.
The outfit formula is the one I have used a lot for conference dressing in the past couple of years: skinny pants, blouse/shirt and blazer. This particular version was built around my favorite shirt ever, a little tuxedo sleeveless number in black with touches of ink and stone by 10 Crosby Derek Lam. I combined it with my workhorse navy Sloan ankle BR pants and stone knitted H&M blazer. I would have loved to wear my ankle strap AT suede navy pumps, but I knew it was going to rain the whole day and I was going to spend a lot of time walking outside, so I went for a much sensible choice of simple navy Gap oxfords. The outfit was finished with another set of workhorse items, my silver RM satchel and silver/rose gold MJ watch. The outfit was quite a mix of high and low which I really enjoy.
