WIW 5/19: Dressing down for church in mint and maroon

I posted a couple of weeks ago about how my usual church uniform of a nice day dress and heels is quite a bit more dressed up than the norm at my new church. So today I decided to dress down a little and trotted out the fab mint and maroon combination from Lauren's recent post. Added white watch, pumps and bag for a springier feel because it's quite warm today.

Mint blouse: Nine West
Maroon ombre jeans: Jolt
White pumps: Jessica Simpson
White satchel: Banana Republic
White watch: Oniss

I think I hit the right note because I ran into a lady I'd met before and she said "Oh! You always look so nice and put together!"

I kind of feel like it looked better in person than in the photo because the photo washes out the top a little, but what say you? Thumbs up, down, or sideways?

It looks great, Mary! I am so in awe of how well you wear Every. Single. Colour. Honestly -- most times I look at you I think: "WOW. Now THAT is her colour!!" Except the next day it's a completely different colour and I think the very same thing!!

Are you enjoying your new church? It has been such a long time since I've been -- plus Sunday's are a day of work for me. I think the outfit is very fab! The color combination is unusual, it's true, and I think that's part of the difficulty with photographing it. But I think it works, and you obviously elicited a compliment and I find those do not come that often. (Like, almost never for me. Except from everyone here of course, where y'all are super supportive!)

PS -- Craving apps from Roy's Happy Hour! My brother is driving to LA for a colonoscopy and I *almost* wish I were going in his place. That's how fab it would be to meet you and the gang in Pasadena at the unofficial Southland gathering place of YLF.

Denise, Roy's is craving a visit from you, too! Yes, I'm enjoying the new church although I have to admit it's a little hard to break the ice going all by my lonesome. So this morning they were soliciting Sunday School teachers and I took the plunge and signed up to help teach the 4th and 5th graders starting in the fall! Yikes! That should definitely get me right in the thick of things!

Joy, I got the jeans at Marshall's at last year's Shoptoberfest. They're a junior's brand and are actually a little big in the waist for me, but I love them so I just belt 'em and go!
