WIW 5/18: Kate meets TCPITW - YouLookFab Forum

I'm having lunch with some former colleagues today so I wanted to look put together and professional but still fun. Do you think I achieved my goal?

Black and white bird print blouse: Comptoir Des Cotonniers
Black dress pants: Ann Taylor
Black and white jacket: Kate Spade
Studded belt: Merona
Cutest Purse in the World: Gaya
Black patent pumps: Madden Girl
Sunnies: Kiosk at the mall

ETA: The studded belt totally wasn't working for me so I changed it out for the neon green, which I think plays surprisingly nicely with the mint bag. What say you? Was that the right move?

ETA 2: Nope, not digging it. I think third time (black/white snakeskin) is the charm. You?

ETA 3: Plain black belt, after Angie weighed in. For good or ill, that's how I'm leaving the house! LOL

Agreed - black belt is better. I find light belts VERY hard to style.

The studs aren't too much at all, Mary. You are MAXIMAL. But the low colour contrast is infinitely better here - to my eye anyway. FWIW

I quite like the snake skin too, but still like the black best.

Version 1 and 4 are my favorites - liked the neon in the thumbnail but I think you are right and it overpowers TCPITW a bit, (which is pure blasphemy and must never ever happen). The dark belts let it shine while still picking up a little brightness. I am loving how much use you are getting out of that statement bag!

Hmm, I like the black studded belt better than the plain one. It feels more like you--that extra flair. Wear it with the studded belt next time!

The stud belt and black belt are my favorites. The outfit has lots going on already, the lighter belt and green belt draw the eye too much to the belt and away from all the other fun details of the outfit.

Another vote for the studded belt. So much more oomph than the plain one. Also, thanks for showing us how much the feel of an outfit changes, just by changing out the belt.
