WIW 5/16 and 5/17: Yellow and neutrals

1/2: Wednesday I chose my yellow and tan color scheme from my J Brand shoes. Halogen pencil skirt, AT Loft top, thrifted AT blazer, Target tote, and tan belt from the first YLF swap. I wasn't 100% sure of the skirt and blazer when I got dressed in the morning, but I ended up getting several compliments during the day. After work I changed out the skirt for dark denim skinny jeans for a trip to the movies with my girlfriends.

3/4. Today I am continuing the yellow and neutral theme with my fave gray flares from Rae via swap, printed top and yellow jacket from the Rack, purple belt from the consignment store, Jessica Simpson leopard pumps, and gray Talbots tote from eBay. I know the volume-on-volume silhouette isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I love these colors together and this outfit makes me happy!

I'm totally crushing on your outfit in pic #2 MaryK - I love these colours together and every time I see you in that raisin skirt, I just want it myself all the more!

I really like your volume on volume outfit - the grey trousers make your legs look a mile long and again, I'm loving the colour combination.

Nr. 2 is such a subtle combo, you surely have to have the right pieces for this! Noone could do it better! I love the last 2 ones, too. Yes, they are so different, it's obvious you have fun with fashion and your closet!:-)

Both of these are awesome! I really love the first one--the color combo seems like it wouldn't work on paper, but then it totally does! The second one is wonderful too. Love those wide legs and love you in yellow!

Don't you just love when you can swap one item in an outfit and reuse it for evening. Fab yellow outfit in both 2 and 4. Everytime I see your WIWs I think to myself, "she must really have one happy closet" with all the fab colors you have in your wardrobe.

Lisa, I LOVED being able to slip out of my skirt and into my jeans and be ready for "Dark Shadows!"

Jonesy, I would never even have considered yellow and tan if Hubby hadn't given me the yellow and tan shoes. And I actually tried on every other color jacket in my closet before deciding to be bold and go with the tan. That thrifted tan blazer has got to be well under $1 per wear at this point, BTW!

Kiwichick, I went for years and years thinking I couldn't wear yellow! Who knew?

It should be illegal to look so good in tan and mustard! It's so fab with your skin tone and gorgeous blonde hair. I love the shoes in the first outfit, and the volume over volume is totally working for you in the last picture. Supa-fab!
